40 Hour Hazwoper
Our 40 Hour Hazwoper Training course was written for workers who are involved :in
- voluntary clean-up operations
- emergency response operations
- storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites
- We cover subjects including:
- protection against hazardous chemicals
- elimination of hazardous chemicals
- safety of workers and the environment
OSHA regulations
This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120 (e). It meets the standard requirement of 40 hrs of initial training.
24 Hour Hazwoper
Our 24 hour Hazwoper Training course fulfills your requirements for certification under 29 CFR, Part 1910.120 (q), or other applicable state regulations for certification to the 24-hour Occasional Site Worker level.
Hazwoper 8 Hour Refresher
Our 8 hour Hazwoper Training course meets the requirements in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for eight hours of annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards. Topics include HAZWOPER regulations, safety and health plans, hazardous chemicals, safety hazards, air monitoring, medical surveillance, site control, decontamination, personal protective equipment, and respiratory equipment. This course covers the topics in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Prerequisites: Enrollment is open to those who have already completed the 40-hour or 24-hour HAZWOPER Training.
40 Hour Hazwoper with GHS and OSHA Hazardous Communication
In addition to the regular learning objectives of the Hazwoper Training course, emphasis is put on some new information and training for the use of the new labeling elements and a standardized format for safety data sheets - the 2 new requirements of the GHS System. A few of the topics covered are:
• Understand the principles of toxicology and how they relate to various types of chemical exposures.
• Describe potentially hazardous situations involving corrosives, solvents, oxidizers and reactive chemicals.
• Understand Chemicals and the hazards they present in the workplace.
• Understand the principles of decontamination as well as levels of decontamination and methods.
• Develop a Medical Surveillance Program and understand its purpose.
• Identify the types and methods of air monitoring.
• Explain the general guidelines that should be followed when teams responding to emergency spill conditions encounter a hazardous substance.
• Describe the purpose, process and types of material sampling.
• List types of Bloodborne Pathogens, methods of exposure control and steps for compliance with OSHA standards.
• •Summarize training and record keeping requirements regarding Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Discuss the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act.
• Discuss specific revisions to the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
